The project:
|
|
Sparrowhawk & Heald were asked to work with Channel Four in order
to give them confidence in the following areas:
Knowledge
of CD-ROM use in schools and an understanding of how CD-ROMs developed
by Channel Four might be integrated into classroom practice.
Structuring
products for school use. This involved meeting with the development
teams and asking questions related to educational needs and objectives.
Framing
the documentation for school use to ensure that the information
provided enabled teachers to make the most of the products.
Testing
products on a range of machines found in schools to ensure that
the CD-ROMs met the expectations of teachers and that predictable
problems could be identified and avoided.
|
   |
These objectives were achieved by a consultant from Sparrowhawk
and Heald meeting with Channel 4 budget administrators, commenting
on the initial product proposals, reviewing the budget levels
and taking part in product development meetings. Progress reports
were written to monitor developments against these budgets and
schedules.
Products were then trialled with teachers and children in appropriate
school settings and tested in real school settings upon project
completion. Sparrowhawk and Heald then worked with the development
team to produce appropriate documentation for the product and
for marketing.
