The project:

The School Works game - Tike and the Missing Mutt - allows the user to travel through the school, meeting people and solving problems as they go. The game was funded by NESTA and is designed to encourage pupils and educators to think about the design of their schools.

Curriculum mapping was carried out to find the best fit to the game. Lesson ideas were then mapped to specific areas of the curriculum. 10 lesson plans created and resource sheets for teachers to use were produced in line with the ideas and message behind the game. A teacher support guide was also produced to help teachers incorporate the game into their lessons.

This was achieved through close liaison with School Works, Sodium, the game and website developers and teachers.

Outcomes:

Successful launch of Online game by Schools Works utilising Curriculum Support Materials produced by Sparrowhawk & Heald.
